There are many facets to the SRC so we decided to break out into huddle groups to address the current design and research needs for the SRC.

SRC Task Force Huddle Groups

Huddle groups are temporary teams who come together for a short period of time to figure out a certain aspect of the SRC

  • SRC Fundraising Team– this team is in charge of raising enough money to build and open the SRC through meetings, proposal, and individual contributions all of which includes researching corporation grants and sponsorships, seeking in-kind product donations, and to some extent vetting products.   • Design/Engineering/Construction/LEED Team — this team is in charge of making the key decisions to move the SRC forward in terms of design, engineering, construction, and meeting LEED Platinum requirements. Contact: Sarah Boren (sarahboren@usgbcnf.org; 904-535-0055); Members:Eric Hickox, Mark Gelfo, Corie Baker, Ellen Reed, Tom Goldsbury, Hava Binkley, Rondra Bolden, Wayne Dunn
  • LEED Documentation Team — this team is in charge of getting all the documentation necessary to meet LEED Platinum.  Contact: Mark Gelfo (mark.gelfo@tlc-eng.com; 904-306-9111).  Members: Sarah Boren, Ellen Reed, Kevin Bennett, Mercelin Etienne, Mary Couch, Sonja Curcic
  • Exterior Huddle Group– this group is in charge of designing the SRC’s exterior space on the sidewalk and to the side of the Center including landscape, hardscape, urban agricultural components, LID, rainwater harvesting, etc.  Contact: Corie Baker (bakerc@pondco.com).  Members: Catherine Burkee, Allan Iosue, Kevin Songer, Sarah Boren, Kevin Bennett, Aaron Glick, Anna Dooley, Bob Chabot, Kevin Bennett, Mercelin Etienne, Janna Tamargo, Kim Gainey
  • Interior Huddle Groups
    • Systems Group — in charge of mechanical, controls, lighting, technology/smart building, solar, wind, plug load/equipment needs (computers, kitchen appliances, AV, LED displays, etc.).  Contact: Mark Gelfo (mark.gelfo@tlc-eng.com).  Members: Dan Fulmer, Ernie Alton, Pat Walsh, John Rall, Wayne Dunn, Randy Bomar, Tim Miller, Sarah Boren, Kevin Bennett, Mercelin Etienne

  • Donor Recognition Design Team — in charge of figuring out a unique, engaging, and sustainable way to recognize the Center’s ongoing supporters.  Contact: Sarah Boren (sarahboren@usgbcnf.org; 904-535-0055).  Members: Corie Baker, Kevin Bennett, and Mercelin Etienne
  • Marketing & Communications (Messaging the SRC) Team— this team is in charge of getting the word out about the SRC through large media outlets (TV, print, radio, internet, etc.), reaching out to professional organizations via email and presentations, and keeping SRC blog active with new information.  Contact: JoAnn Leisher (joann.leisher@gmail.com).   • Mobile Unit Team— this team is in charge of getting the mobile unit designed, built, and out educating the community.   • SRC Programming Team — this team is in charge of lining up programming for the SRC both in education events/trainings/programs and for the gallery space which will be rotated every quarter.  Contact: Sarah Boren (sarahboren@usgbcnf.org).  Members: Bruce Nappi
  • SRC College/Highschool Internship Program Team — this team is in charge of designing and implementing a robust and competitive sustainability internship program amongst local colleges and universities.  Contact: Sarah Boren (sarahboren@usgbcnf.org).  Members: April Moore, Elizabeth Porter
